Outside Sales Representative

Location:  Philadelphia area

About the Role:

Motion & Control Enterprises is looking for an Outside Sales Representative who will be responsible for establishing contact with existing customers, identifying new opportunities, and following up on potential leads. They will monitor industry trends in order to identify emerging markets and develop plans to utilize those markets to expand revenue.

What you’ll do:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Achieve sales goals by retaining existing customers and developing new business
  • Provide strategic recommendations, pricing, and solutions for products and services to meet customer needs
  • Prepare quotations and proposals, negotiate terms, and close transactions
  • Initiate sales calls and deliver presentations highlighting features and benefits of recommended solutions
  • Develop and maintain successful customer relationships
  • Oversee delivery, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of systems
  • Work with engineering and technical staff to clarify customer needs and develop specifications
  • Research local markets to identify sales opportunities and threats
  • Develop an understanding customers’ core business profit drivers
  • Demonstrate the value of distribution to our customer base
  • Recording account, contact, and sales activities in the CRM

Our Perfect Candidate

Education and Experience:

  • Results-oriented sales professional with a minimum of 3 – 5 years sales experience
  • Background in industrial distribution a plus
  • Industrial sales experience with fluid power products preferred
  • Thorough working knowledge and understanding of industrial products including hydraulic and mechanical knowledge of HPUs, system design and testing, pumps, cylinders, valves, etc.
  • Working knowledge of assembly, fabrication, power units, lubrication systems, and electrical controls
  • Associate Degree in Business, Sales or Marketing a plus
  • AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks a plus
  • Minimum of high school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Proven ability to develop and implement strategies to enhance market share
  • Excellent communication skills with a strength in customer presentation
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Strong work ethic and desire to meet customer needs
  • Working knowledge of Excel and Office 365 required
  • Proven mechanical aptitude with strong attention to detail
